“Seeing a human surrogate gain Jackie’s trust is telly at its best!” – TV TIMES Review

Filmed in Sierra Leone, West Africa, this is a heartwarming story told through the evolving and enchanting lives of rehabilitating chimp characters, and featuring renowned chimpanzee expert Dr Jane Goodall.

Here it is illegal to kill, capture and trade chimpanzees. But in a country ravaged by 95% deforestation, civil war and Ebola, they are of little priority. We follow the extraordinary work being done to save them at the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in the country.

Chimp personality goes a long way. But finding and expressing it is hard when you’ve been orphaned or rescued and your role models killed. With help from each other and dedicated carers, they must find their personality, find their place in a troop, and find a way to survive.

Sometimes harrowing and often humorous, Chimp School is a unique and uplifting insight into one of our closest living relatives.
